Israeli superstar Gal Gadot won the #SeeHer Award during last night’s Critics’ Choice Awards ceremony.

The award, created last year by the Association of National Advertisers, honors women in the film industry for their positive female representation in media. The award was presented to Gadot by Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins.

In a powerful acceptance speech, Gadot spoke of her character’s qualities, describing it as her dream role. “She is full of heart, strength, compassion and forgiveness. She sees wrong that must be made right. She takes action when everyone around her is idle,” she said.

Gadot also alluded to the #MeToo campaign by mentioning the industry’s role in educating for respect. “In the past weeks and months we’ve been witnessing a movement in our industry and society,” she said, “and I want to share this award with all the women and men who stand for what’s right.”

This marks the latest in a string of recent accomplishments for the Wonder Woman star. On Wednesday, JOL reported that Gadot had been chosen as the new celebrity spokesperson for Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei, as well as US make-up company Revlon.
