An Israeli citizen who was abducted at gunpoint last week in Nigeria and held for ransom was released Monday, the Israeli Foreign Ministry revealed earlier today. The 62-year-old man was working in an Israeli company in the country.

The Israeli was kidnapped after a gunfight that claimed the life of his driver. He was then taken by his abductors to a hiding spot. After lengthy negotiations with the Israeli company’s CEO, which involved the Israeli local embassy as well as Nigerian authorities, he was released unharmed.
