While in Moscow, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed to reporters that Israel is already taking action to prevent Iran from establishing itself in Syria. Netanyahu also said that he told the Russian president that “there is a factor that is actively trying to heat up the area and bring a deadly weapon that is dangerous for Israel into Lebanon – this factor is Iran.”

During his visit to Moscow, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday mainly in order to discuss the present situation in Syria. “Will Iran establish itself in Syria or will this process be stopped?” Netanyahu told reporters following the meeting. “I made clear to Putin that we’ll stop it. If it doesn’t stop on its own, we’ll stop it. In fact, we’re already taking action.”

Netanyahu added that he and Putin also discussed Israel’s national security and the current threat in Lebanon. “I told him that the threat of precision missiles from Lebanon is serious and the State of Israel won’t tolerate this,” Netanyahu added. “The factories are under construction and therefore, we’re drawing a red line right now. It’s important that our enemies understand that not only will Israel not accept this, but there must be an understanding of the powers.”

Netanyahu stated that Iran is to blame for attempting to change the status quo both in Syria and Lebanon. “What changes now is that there’s an opportunity to create a quieter, different reality after there have been many tragedies there and there is a factor that is actively trying to heat up the area and bring a deadly weapon that is dangerous for Israel into Lebanon – this factor is Iran.”

Earlier today, JOL reported that Netanyahu stressed the importance of facing murderous ideologies in time while at Moscow’s Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center. “I really appreciate this invitation and your personal attendance at this place and on this day, which reflects our joint struggle against the greatest evil that humanity has ever known,” Netanyahu added. “I think the main lesson that can be taken from the rise of the Nazis and their consequent fall is that we need to take a stand against murderous ideologies before it is too late and with power.”
