Today (Friday), Romanian President of the Champer of Deputies Liviu Dragnea stated that his country is considering transferring its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

Romania is among the 35 countries that abstained during the UN vote to reject the US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. 128 member states voted in favor of the resolution, which was introduced by a group of Arab countries, while only nine countries voted against the resolution.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed the resolution, calling it a ‘theater of the absurd’: “Jerusalem is our capital. Always was, always will be.” Netanyahu thanked the countries that stood with Israel. Meanwhile, the Palestinians and other Arab nations applauded the vote, calling it a “victory for Palestine.”
