Today (Friday), North Korea’s Ambassador to the UN Han Tae-song claimed that his country won’t negotiate with the US as long as the military cooperation between the US and South Korea continues.
“As long as there is continuous hostile policy against my country by the US and as long as there are continued war games at our doorstep, then there will not be negotiations,” the ambassador said. “Our country plans ultimate completion of the nuclear force.”
Han met with Reuters in Geneva, Switzerland, and claimed North Korea is prepared for additional US sanctions: “We are ready for such kinds of measures.” However, the diplomat stated that his country can’t give up its nuclear program as it is a ‘deterrent’.
“The DPRK, my country, will continue to build up its self-defense capability, the pivot of which is nuclear forces,” Han added. “As long as US and hostile forces keep up nuclear threat and blackmail.”
