Today (Friday) disturbances occurred near the village of Silwad in the Ramallah area, during which stones and firebombs were thrown at troops. Border Policemen and IDF soldiers began to move towards the shelter to protect themselves from the rioters, suddenly they saw a Viper over their heads.
Aaron Moyal, the company commander, summed up the incident that ended without casualties: “We have witnessed various attempts to harm the troops, but in this case they have not succeeded.”
Earlier this week, the Israeli Air Force attacked four targets in Gaza. This was done in response to the rocket fired at Israel. It was the first time since Operation Protective Edge last summer that a Grad rocket was fired from the center of the Gaza Strip towards Israel. The rocket landed in an open area between Ashdod and Gan Yavne. It did not cause any damage or injuries.
This was the fourth time since last summer when terror organizations in Gaza have fired towards Israel, while the previous instances were short-range shootings.
According to the announcement by the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, direct hits were identified in all four attacks: “The IDF sees the incident severely. The Hamas terror organization is the one carrying the responsibility.”
