A CNN poll indicated that Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump has the support of 44% of Americans compared to 39% for Hillary Clinton. These results that were published today also include Libertarian Candidate Gary Johnson (9%) and Green Party Candidate Jill Stein (3%).

CNN noted that these are the best results for Donald Trump since September 2015. The pollsters noted that Trump’s appearance at the Republican Convention held in Cleveland left independent voters with a positive impression.

Before the Republican Convention, 34% of independents supported Clinton compared to 31% that supported Trump. However, after the Republican Convention, 43% of these voters supported Trump and only 41% of independents supported Clinton.

The poll noted that there has been a rapid increase in support for Trump among Caucasian voters that don’t hold an academic degree. 62% of them support Trump compared to 23% of them supporting Clinton. However, among Caucasians that have an academic degree, the majority still support Clinton.
