Mike Pompeo, who was sworn in on Thursday as the new US Secretary of State, will be visiting Israel soon as part of his first overseas trip in his new position.
Pompeo is currently in Brussels for a NATO summit and is also set to visit Riyadh, Jerusalem and Amman, according to State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert. Upon arriving in the Middle East, he will meet with Saudi, Israeli and Jordanian officials.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Pompeo may lead the US delegation to Jerusalem for the opening of the new US embassy on May 14.
