Less than a week after cancelling the Dreamers program, US President Donald Trump received criticism from Pope Francis, who hoped the decision would be reconsidered.

Pope Francis stated that he hopes US President Donald Trump will reconsider his decision to cancel the Dreamers program, which protects the children of illegal immigrants from deportation.
“To take away young people from their families is not something that bears fruit,” Francis explained. “It’s important that young people rediscover their roots.” Francis went as far as to question Trump’s pro-life values.
The pope joins a long list of people who condemned Trump’s decision to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA), including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Microsoft President Brad Smith. Former US President Barack Obama also wrote a Facebook post against the decision.
