During the day, there have been attempts to resolve the coalition crisis between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s side and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon’s side. Both sides examined the possibility of establishing a new body instead of the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation that will include elements from both the IBC and the Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA).
As reported this morning, Netanyahu agreed to keeping the IBC in exchange for the dismissal of its heads and a change of the supervision model.

Yesterday, Netanyahu stated that his intentions in regards to breaking up the corporation and the possibility of heading towards another election are serious. “You misunderstood me in 2014 and you are misunderstanding me now,” he said. “You keep saying that what I want is power,” Netanyahu said. “However, I was willing to give up then when I saw that I couldn’t achieve anything and I am also now. The dearest thing to me is the media.”
