Shortly after IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot said that the IDF will continue to act in Syria if necessary, Arab media outlets reported that an Israeli Air Force aircraft attacked a vehicle along the Israeli-Syrian border near Quneitra.
According to Syrian reports, the IDF targeted and eliminated a member of Bashar al-Assad’s militia, Yasser Hussein al-Sayed. Al-Sayed was an active member of the Quneitra Hawks battalion operating in the Khan Arnava area of the Hermon, though his rank is still unknown.
Hours before, Eizenkot discussed the Israeli attack on Syria and said that the IDF will continue to take actions to prevent the transfer of weapons to Hezbollah. “We maintain our security interests and work to prevent the transfer of weapons to Hezbollah, which we will make every effort to prevent in the future,” stated Eizenkot.
