Iraqi media outlets reported today (Saturday) that during an Iraqi military airstrike conducted in the Iraqi city of El Kaim, Eid al-Jamili was eliminated. Al-Jamili was considered to be the second highest in command within ISIS and was known as the terrorist organization’s war minister.
According to reports, al-Jamili was eliminated in the Al Anbar Governorate located near Iraq’s border with Syria, which is considered to be one of the terrorist organization’s last strongholds. It was also reported that two additional senior-level terrorists within ISIS were eliminated: one who was responsible for war and one who was responsible for administration.
Despite the many reports concerning the successful airstrike, ISIS has still not confirmed the death of their officials. Furthermore, photographic evidence of the eliminated bodies has not been released, so the report cannot be verified.
