Yesterday (Thursday), CNN news reported that special counsel Robert Mueller, who was appointed to investigate Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election, is looking into financial ties between US President Donald Trump’s associates and the Russians.
According to the report, investigating Trump’s financial network could allow for real evidence that would lead to potential prosecution rather than questionable evidence regarding meetings or collusion. During an interview with the New York Times, Trump warned Mueller that his finances were a red line that shouldn’t be crossed.

“President’s outside counsel has not received any requests for documentation or information about this,” stated Trump attorney Jay Sekulow. “Any inquiry from the special counsel that goes beyond the mandate specified in the appointment we would object to.” Another one of Trump’s attorneys told the AP that he doesn’t believe the president is under investigation.
As reported earlier this week by JOL, Trump may have dictated Donald Trump Jr.’s false statement about his meeting with a Russian lawyer regarding Hillary Clinton during the campaign.
