The number of violent incidents aimed at members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community in Israel has risen by 17% in 2017, according to data published on Sunday by the Israeli LGBT Association.

The group’s annual report shows that 533 anti-LGBT attacks were reported last year. In addition, it states that an anti-LGBT post was published on social media every four minutes. There were 27 reported cases in which apartment owners refused to rent to homosexual couples.

The report also mentioned July’s mass protest in Tel Aviv that followed the government’s statement that it does not see homosexual couples as fit to adopt children.

Just this week, a prominent religious-Zionist rabbi said publicly that homosexuals need to be “exterminated,” triggering a police complaint for inciting murder.
