During the difficult battles against ISIS, parts of the city of Mosul, Iraq, were completely destroyed. American satellite company ImageSat International revealed tragic images from the city comparing the city in 2015 to 2017.

American satellite company ImageSat International revealed the massive destruction in the city of Mosul in Iraq, where the Iraqi military fought against ISIS for months. Despite Iraqi military forces declaring victory over ISIS in the city, restoration could take years.

This is how a hotel and several hospitals that stood along the banks of the Tigris River looked before the area was completely destroyed and flattened:
