Israeli President Reuven Rivlin toured southern Israel on Sunday alongside Deputy IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi. While visiting Kibbutz Nirim, Rivlin met with over 200 residents of the area and told them that the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is a matter of concern.
Rivlin also told the residents that Israel will not tolerate the Arab world blaming it for the problems in Gaza when it is the only country in the region that is transferring aid to the coastal enclave regardless of the situation.
In addition, Rivlin called on the international community to convince Hamas to take responsibility for the situation in Gaza. “I’m asking all the countries of the world, everyone who has the power and the influence, to pressure the ruling power in Gaza,” he said. “Hamas needs to take responsibility for its actions and the lives of the residents.”
