Israeli President Reuven Rivlin spoke today with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and stated that “we must stand together in the struggle against this horrible terrorism.”
“We must take a clear and strong position against terrorism and increase cooperation together with the international community against all terrorist activities,” Erdogan stated. “I want to share with you the deep sadness I felt when I heard the news of the killing of the 3 Israelis that were in Istanbul on vacation visiting the city.”
In response, Rivlin expressed his condolences for the Turkish people and he told Erdogan: “Terrorism is terrorism, life is life and blood is blood in Istanbul, Brussels, Paris and Jerusalem.”
“We are ready to cooperate with Israel against terrorism,” Erdogan added. “The terror attack in Belgium yesterday is the type of thing we fear. There is no good terrorism. Terrorism is evil. We must fight against this evil. Let us pray that all such attacks won’t occur again.”
