Last week, former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters and other artists urged the Radiohead band members to cancel their upcoming Tel Aviv performance. However, he told the New York Times on Friday evening that he failed to persuade the band to cancel the show. “They seem to have decided that they’re going to go ahead and do a concert in Tel Aviv,” he said.
During an onstage interview with New York Times music critic Jon Pareles, Waters said: “I have engaged in a correspondence with some of Radiohead and they seem to have decided that they’re going to go ahead and do a concert in Tel Aviv. So there’s very little more that I can say on the matter.”
Last week, JOL reported that dozens of artists signed an open letter urging Radiohead to cancel its Tel Aviv performance, which is scheduled for July 19.
