After a Russian delegation visited North Korea earlier this week, this morning (Friday), Russian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Igor Morgulov claimed that Moscow has multiple lines of communication with the dictatorship.

According to Russian news agency Interfax, Morgulov stated that these communication channels are “in one way or another bearing fruit”, although there are no direct contacts between the top leaders of the countries.

In addition, the senior-level Russian official warned against imposing further economic sanctions on North Korea, which he said are approaching a “red line”. According to the report, Morgulov expressed hope that the talks between North Korea and the US would ensure security guarantees for Pyongyang.
