Today (Friday), Russia’s Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu claimed that Russian Air Force pilots may have succeeded in eliminating ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

According to Shoygu, the Russians attacked a meeting of ISIS leaders in the terrorist organization’s capital of Raqqa, Syria, last month. They are attempting to verify the information.

This is not the first time the al-Baghdadi’s death has been reported. In January, he was reported to be seriously injured. In June 2016, it was reported that he was eliminated in a US-led airstrike.
