Today (Sunday), Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with US President Donald Trump and thanked him for information provided by the CIA that prevented a terror attack in Russia.
According to Russian news outlets, the Kremlin stated that the CIA tip-off assisted Russian security services in preventing a planned explosion in the Kazan Cathedral in Saint Petersburg. While information on the suspects was not released, the Russian Federal Security Service announced on Friday that it arrested an ISIS-linked terror cell. Putin added that his country will also alert the US if it ever got hold of information regarding a planned terror attack on US soil.
As reported last week by JOL, the two leaders discussed the North Korean threat and agreed to exchange information and collaborate in order to resolve the crisis. Following the conversation, Trump told reporters that he hopes to get more assistance from Russia: “China is helping, Russia is not.”
