A Russian diplomatic delegation has arrived in the North Korean capital of Pyongyang, media sources reported on Wednesday morning based on a statement made by the North Korean embassy in Russia.
The delegation, led by Victor Kalganov, the vice director of the Russian National Defense Command Centre, reportedly came to Pyongyang to discuss the “common threat” coming from the United States.
The surprise visit came on the same day that US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the US was ready to begin direct talks with North Korea without preconditions.
Tillerson added that the US is prepared to tackle the threat of ballistic missiles from North Korea.
