Early Wednesday morning, a Palestinian terrorist was neutralized after stabbing a guard at the entrance to Karmei Tzur in Gush Etzion in the West Bank. The second guard on duty shot and eliminated the terrorist.
The 34-year old guard was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem with minor injuries. The guard was fully conscious as he was transported to the hospital. Following the attack, a message was sent to the residents of Karmei Tzur, informing them of the attack and the medical state of the guard. The alert notified the residents that the situation has been handled and that forces will be in the area to further monitor and preemptively search for terrorists plotting attacks.
The terror attack is part of an increased wave of violence in the West Bank. As previously reported by JOL, the terrorist who murdered Rabbi Raziel Shevach about a month ago was eliminated yesterday.
Hamas, which has taken credit for some of the recent attacks, has welcomed the violence and stated that it is part of a continued response to US President Donald Trump’s decision to move the embassy to Jerusalem and declare the city as Israel’s capital.
