Today (Thursday), famous American actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, known mainly from her roles in Seinfeld, Saturday Night Live and Veep announced that she has breast cancer. “1 in 8 women get breast cancer,” she Tweeted. “Today, I’m the one.”
“The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends,” she added. “And fantastic insurance through my union. The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.”
56-year-old Louis-Dreyfus is a mother to 2 children, aged 11 and 16. The actress has had a very successful year after breaking the record for the most Emmys won for a single role. According to reports, she learned about her diagnosis the day after winning the sixth Emmy for her role in Veep.
