A senior-level Republican and Likud political consultant Arthur J. Finkelstein passed away during the night. 72-year-old Finkelstein became known in Israel after helping Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu into office in 1996 with the famous campaign “Peres will divide Jerusalem” and “no peace, no security, no reason to vote for Peres.” According to reports, he passed away as a result of lung cancer.
Over the years, Finkelstein returned to advice Netanyahu and the Likud Party. In 2005, the consultant married his male partner of many years. He still consulted many Republican officials that opposed same-sex marriage.
