Israeli Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked responded this evening (Saturday) to the criticism voiced by Amona residents after the evacuation of the outpost and said that Ha-Bayit Ha-Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett never misled them. “We did everything to pass the relocation plan,” she said in an interview with Channel 2 News.

“They view us as the people who are the closest to them,” Shaked continued. “An irreversible Supreme Court ruling needs to be upheld. The state did everything in its power to create an alternative for the Amona residents.”

Shaked also commented on the footage of police officers removing violent protesters from the Amona synagogue. “The Israel Police had to deal with a complicated event and did this is the best way,” she said.

“When I saw a swastika on the synagogue wall, I was horrified,” stated the Ha-Bayit Ha-Yehudi minister. “Those who were there were not Amona residents but lawbreaking boys. I couldn’t believe that I saw things like this in the State of Israel.”
