The FBI announced that the man responsible for shooting a Republican congressman acted alone and wasn’t connected to terrorism. Congressman Steve Scalise’s condition improved and he is currently stable.

Today (Wednesday), the FBI announced that the man responsible for shooting Republican congressman Steve Scalise along with 4 other victims last week, acted alone and that the circumstances of the attack weren’t related to terrorism. The shooting occurred during a congressional baseball practice in Virginia. The armed suspect was shot and eliminated by the police forces at the scene.
66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson was unemployed and described as deeply hostile towards US President Donald Trump. Hodgkinson volunteered for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and according to USA Today, a list of names of Republican congressmen was found in his pocket.

Scalise, who was critically injured in the shooting, is recovering at the hospital and is currently stabilized after undergoing several surgeries.
