Shoppers at a pharmacy in Arica, Chile are seen in a video responding to the recent earthquake.
There was an earthquake off the coast of Chile overnight hitting 8.3 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake sparked a worldwide panic for fear of tsunami waves hitting the western coast of South America. In Arica, in northern Chile and near the border of Peru, residents said they felt many quakes in recent weeks but today was the most powerful of them. According to Chilean authorities, six people were killed in the earthquake three of whom were killed from walls that collapsed and two from heart attacks. Security cameras at a pharmacy in Arica caught moments of the earthquake.
For residents of Chile, apparently this might just be the beginning of their problems. Authorities later on called for people to rush to areas fearing the possibility of a high tsunami wave that fortunately, did not occur.
