A soldier of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) suffered serious injuries from the impact of a stone on his head in a guard post near the settlement of Beit El, in the West Bank. The military spokesman reported that during a confrontation that broke out between the soldier and the terrorist, the latter reached the sentry with a stone from a short distance, and fled. The soldier was not wearing the regulation helmet.
The wounded soldier was evacuated in serious condition to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. An identity document was found in the area, apparently of the aggressor, state radio station Kan said. IDF troops are raking the area in search of the attacker.
Yesterday, Thursday, two soldiers died and another was seriously injured during a terrorist attack in Givat Asaf, in the west bank. The wounded soldier was surgically treated for a bullet wound to the head and his life is in critical condition. The fallen Israeli fighters were identified as First Sergeant Yuval Mor Yosef, 20, and Sergeant Yosef Cohen, 19, of the Netzah Yehuda Battalion, a unit of religious soldiers of the Kfir Fighter Infantry Brigade.
