The Syrian army claims to have found large quantities of Israeli shell casings, rocket launchers, small arms and ammunition in one of the former strongholds of the Islamic State; east of Syria’s Deraa province, according to the Iranian news agency Fars News Agency.

Something similar happened when a weapons depot allegedly abandoned by the Al-Nusra Front was found in the Quneitra province. According to SANA, the Syrian state news agency, Western made medicines, automatic rifles, sniper rifles, machine guns, and other ammunition were also found.

This past August, the Russian General Staff announced that the Syrian authorities had regained control of the ISIS-controlled provinces of Deraa, Quneitra and As Suwayda thanks to the efforts of the Russian Reconciliation Centre in Syria.
