The Syrian authorities have condemned Israel’s plans to annex territories in the West Bank

“Syria expresses strong condemnation and rejection concerning the statements by Israel’s prime minister regarding the annexation of additional Palestinian territories in the West Bank, which is interpreted as aggression … This is a continuous violation and disrespect toward the international laws and agreements regarding the legal status of the occupied territories, especially following the Israeli decision on Jerusalem and the  Golan Heights,” the of the Jordan River, describing them as an act of aggression, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

On April 20, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his main political rival Benny Gantz signed an agreement to form a unity government. According to the deal, Israel can begin the process of annexation based on the peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump.
