An Israel Police bomb squad was rushed to Nitsanim Beach today (Sunday) after a young man said that he saw the top of an ancient tank sticking out of the sand. The bomb squad also found a land mine and an old artillery shell at the scene.

The bomb squad removed the old weapons from the site and destroyed the land mine and artillery shell. The Israel Police stated that there was most likely no connection between the artillery shell and the tank, which had most likely been there for decades. According to the Israel Police’s assessments, the tank has been there since before Israel was founded.

In addition, it was stated that the tank was searched and that the only thing inside of it was sand.
