The magazine US News & World Report recently published its most up-to-date rankings of the most influential and powerful countries in the world.
According to this year’s rankings, Israel was ranked as the eighth most powerful country in the world, surpassing countries such as Canada and Australia.
As in previous years, the United States is ranked the highest followed by Russia and China.
The power ranking of the most powerful countries is based on the average points of five different attributes; its leader, economic influence, political influence, strong international alliances, and military strength.On the US News website, Israel is described as ”the only Jewish nation in the world, is a small country on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. For its relatively small size, the country has played a large role in global affairs. The country has a strong economy, landmarks of significance to several religions and strained relationships with many of its Arab neighbors
The ranking is based on a survey of more than 20,000 people from four regions that are tied to 80 countries with different attributes. This annual survey is developed jointly by US News, the BAV group and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania,
