The Israeli Counter-Terrorism Bureau called upon Israelis not to visit Tunisia following an assessment of the situation, which indicated that Jewish sites are under threat there: “Terrorists continue to act in order to perpetrate terror attacks within the country.”

The Israeli Counter-Terrorism Bureau publsihed a travel warning advising against going to Tunisia due to intelligence about a possible terror attack within the country.
“Terrorist elements especially global jihadists continue to carry out terror attacks against a variety of targets,” they noted. “There is also a fear of terror attacks against Jewish targets.”
The travel warning was published ahead of the public celebrations for Lag B’Omer, which is expected to take place on the island of Djerba in less than two weeks on May 14-15.
“In view of the severity of the threat, the Counter-Terrorism Bureau recommends that Israelis refrain from visiting the country,” the statement read.
