US President Donald Trump has denounced all white supremacists, mentioning the “Proud Boys”.

“Yesterday I made a statement that was according to most, a perfect statement … I’ve said it many times, let me be clear again, I condemn the KKK, I condemn all white supremacists, I condemn the Proud Boys I condemn all white supremacists, I condemn the Proud Boys. I don’t know much about the Proud Boys but I condemn that”, Trump told Fox News.

During Tuesday’s debate, moderator Chris Wallace pressured Trump into condemning white supremacist groups, stressing that he has repeatedly slammed Biden for not denouncing left-wing radicals.

“Sure, I’m willing to do that. But I would say almost everything I see is from the left wing, not from the right wing”, the president said.

As the speech grew into a spat with the former vice president, Trump asked, “Who do you want me to condemn? Give me a name”, Biden snapped, “Proud Boys”.

“Proud Boys, stand back and stand by”, Trump said. “But I’ll tell you what, I’ll tell you what, somebody has got to do something about Antifa and the left. Because this is not a right-wing problem. This is a left-wing problem.”
