Yesterday (Friday), US President Donald Trump said in an interview with The Associated Press news agency that the Champs-Élysées terrorist attack will have a big influence on the French presidential election and even claimed that it will probably increase support for far-right candidate Marine Le Pen.
“Whoever is the toughest on radical Islamic terrorism,” Trump explained. “And whoever is the toughest at the borders will do well in the election.” According to AP news, Trump claimed that the attack will “probably help” Le Pen because she is the that candidate.
Another terrorist attack in Paris. The people of France will not take much more of this. Will have a big effect on presidential election!

In response to the attack, Le Pen called for the closure of all the mosques in France and the expulsion of all those suspected of terrorist acts.
On Sunday, the first round of the French presidential election will take place, during which François Hollande’s replacement will be chosen after he announced that he will not run for another term. If none of the candidates win at least half of the votes, another round will be held in two weeks between the two candidates who won the highest support in the first round.
