Washington Federal Judge James Robart temporarily suspended US President Donald Trump’s ban on immigrants from 7 Muslim countries. The ruling will apply to all states. Trump’s administration will appeal the decision.

Robart upheld the cases of two states, Washington and Minnesota, and ruled against Trump’s executive order, saying it caused “immediate and irreparable injury.”

“This decision shuts down the executive order immediately,” stated Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson. Even before the White House released a statement, the US Customs and Border Protection told airlines that they will reinstate visas that were cancelled as a result of the ban.

“The Department of Justice intends to file an emergency stay of this outrageous order and defend the executive order of the President, which we believe is lawful and appropriate,” White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer stated. “The President’s order is intended to protect the homeland and he has the constitutional authority and responsibility to protect the American people.”
