The world is marking World Oceans Day today (Thursday), just a few days after U.S. President Donald Trump decided to pull out of the Paris climate change deal. In honor of the event, the UN Headquarters in New York held a special international conference aimed at finding ways to protect the oceans.

At the beginning of the UN’s first-ever conference on the topic, Swedish Deputy Prime Minister Isabella Lövin said that everyone knows that the oceans are in danger and that countries need to come together in order to find solutions to the problems.
