A 10-year-old autistic boy was arrested and handcuffed outside of his Florida school for allegedly kicking a school staff member six months ago.

The boy, John Benji Haywood, had been suspended from the school following the incident, but neither he nor his mother, Luanne, had any idea that an arrest warrant had been issued against him.

Luanne, who filmed the incident, is shown being ignored by the officers when asking them for paperwork and an explanation. “He has autism, he doesn’t know what’s going on, he’s scared to death and he’s 10 years old,” she tells them as they push her son into their car.
