The US appears to have secretly begun to relocate its consular offices in West Jerusalem as part of the planned relocation of the US embassy.
On Tuesday, a local resident of the Arnona neighborhood noticed that American workers were unloading boxes with the US consulate logo into a boutique hotel that was recently closed down. When he asked one of them what had happened to the hotel, the worker replied, “They sold it.”
The hotel is located just over one kilometer away from the building to which the new US embassy is set to be moved. According to Israel News Company, a small staff is expected to move into it within the next few days.
