Hundreds of thousands of Americans are expected to take to the streets on Saturday in cities across the US in a call for a gun control reform.
The event, dubbed March for Our Lives, was organized by survivors of the February 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where 17 people were shot dead by an expelled former student carrying a semi-automatic rifle.
Affiliated events will also be held outside the US, in cities such as London, Sydney, Tokyo and Mumbai.
The organizers are demanding that Congress ban military-style assault weapons that are often used in mass shootings, as well as toughen the background checks requirements for gun sales.
