Residents of Sri Lanka’s port city of Hambantota enlisted to help a small baby elephant who fell into a drain. The residents, along with animal rights activists, were able to expand the opening of the drain and remove the elephant.

Today (Monday), the footage of an emotional rescue mission involving a baby elephant was released. In the footage, Sri Lankans and animal rights activists teamed up to rescue the baby elephant who fell into a drain in the port city of Hambantota.

After the rescue, the baby elephant was taken for medical care because he had broken his leg in the incident.
