Documentation of the undercover operations conducted by the IDF’s elite undercover units in Judea and Samaria sheds light on the forces’ strategy.
In the recent wave of terror, the undercover operations conducted by the Israeli security forces in Judea and Samaria have been especially efficient. The members of the terror group that murdered Eitam and Naama Henkin, for example, were arrested in a raid conducted by an undercover unit in the Nablus hospital where they were hiding. Last night, a suspected terrorist was arrested by the Yamam Unit in a Hebron hospital.
The operations have been documented by security cameras. The videos show the “Shadow Men” who disguise themselves as Palestinians in order to thwart terror attacks or arrest terrorists.
Much documentation of the forces’ activities in the field has recently been released. Last week, Duvdevan Unit soldiers were documented arresting an activist during riots in Bethlehem. The video shows a group of soldiers overpowering the suspect while their fellow soldiers secure the area. The IDF estimate that these types of arrests generate suspicion and uncertainty among the rioters.
