For the past few years, sharks have been coming back to the Hadera waters every winter. They were spotted there this week for the first time this season.
For the first time this year, sharks were spotted off the coast of Hadera on Thursday.
Dr. Aviad Scheinin, the head of the Top Predator Division at the Morris Kahn Marine Research Center of the University of Haifa, said the sharks return to this location every year.
“When the water cools down ahead of winter, the sharks gather around warm water spots,” he said.
The Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences has been tracking the movement of the sharks using satellite tags in order to better understand their behavior.
