Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he told US President Donald Trump that Israel will not evacuate “one person” of the settlements in the West Bank.
The prime minister said unequivocally stated that he told both President Trump and former President Barak Obama that the Israeli settlements in the West Bank ”are not going anywhere”.
Netanyahu said that any proposal that contradicts its firm position on the matter will be rejected outright by Israel and stressed that Trump is “the best friend Israel has ever had and respects his position, “as I respect his,” when he insists on something.
During Netanyahu’s terms as prime minister, the Jewish population in the West Bank and East Jerusalem have grown significantly. According to the most recent figures about 430,000 Jews live in the West Bank and another 200 thousand Jews live in the neighborhoods of East Jerusalem which were annexed by Israel after the Six-Day War in 1967.
It is believed that the Trump administration will present its peace “Deal Of the Century” after the elections in Israel.
The Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar has reported on details regarding President Trump’s “Deal of the Century”.
According to the report, the plan requires heavy involvement from the neighboring Arab countries; Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Lebanon. Read more…
