The IDF thwarted a possible terrorist attack by detaining a Palestinian woman with a knife at the Qalandiya border crossing on the outskirts of Jerusalem.
The woman was trying to enter Israel with a knife hidden inside a can of Pringles potato chips. According to a tweet published by the Israeli army, “our intelligence says that the woman who was wearing it tried to use it for a stabbing.”
Also on Twitter, the Israeli army commented that cases like this show that “security checks are necessary.”
Last week a terrorist entered a police station in Jerusalemto perpetrate a stabbing attack. Four police officers were injured in the attempt to neutralize him.
Since September 2015, 199 stabbing attacks by Palestinian terrorists have been carried out.
