An American woman was fired from her job after a photograph depicting her giving the middle finger to US President Donald Trump’s passing motorcade went viral. The photograph was taken as Trump’s procession was passing her bike on the way out of a golf club.
“I wasn’t even at work when I did that,” said Juli Briskman, who couldn’t resist gesturing at the passing presidential motorcade. “But they told me I violated the code of conduct policy.”
“They said, ‘We’re separating from you,’” Briskman said. “Basically, you cannot have ‘lewd’ or ‘obscene’ things in your social media. So they were calling flipping him off ‘obscene.’”
“He was passing by and my blood just started to boil,” she recalled. “I’m thinking, DACA recipients are getting kicked out. He pulled ads for open enrollment in Obamacare. Only one-third of Puerto Rico has power. I’m thinking, he’s at the damn golf course again.”
When asked if she regrets what she did, Briskman said she would do it all over again. “In some ways, I’m doing better than ever,” she said. “I’m angry about where our country is right now. I am appalled. This was an opportunity for me to say something.”
